“Ma Mélissa” upcoming digital single!

Staying true to the “release each month on iTunes France” schedule, MEG will be releasing another digital single on the iTunes France store on July 25th. “Ma Mélissa”, the theme song to the popular French children’s variety show “Les Minikeums” (which ran from 1993 to 2002), was composed originally by singer-songwriter Roddy Julienne. You can listen to the preview here.

MEG is making a comeback!

Certainly no one could have anticipated this: MEG has come back to release music.

In an attempt to join together the worlds of the French and Japanese, iTunes France will be releasing exclusive cover songs by MEG, marking her first venture into music in 2011 and her debut in France. Over the next six months, MEG will be releasing two new covers each month, starting on June 20th with “DISCOTHEQUE” (originally by Nana Mizuki) and “バナナの涙” (originally by Ushiroyubi Sasaregumi). The arrangers for the songs have yet to be revealed. Could it be Nakata Yasutaka? Dave Liang? Or perhaps even a new producer? Only time will tell. More information can be found at this article.

MEG has written a detailed account of this surprising turn of events in her blog, which you can read here.

MEG also now has an official Facebook page, so be sure to “Like” it!

Stay tuned for future developments!

Thanks to Cait for the information.

MEG to perform at the 2011 JAPAN EXPO

MEG will, once again, be appearing/performing at this year’s JAPAN EXPO, one of France’s biggest annual and cultural events, on July 1st. Compared to last year’s 17 million, an astounding 19 million people are expected to visit this year over the course of four days. This steadily growing venue will allow MEG to reach a much broader, more international audience, and the event page describes MEG as being a icon of fashion and Harujuku culture. MEG writes in her blog, “I already wanted to go, but I like the atmosphere of a fun festival, so I’m happy. Enjoy!“.

MEG will be performing at the J.E. Live House area of the event. For more information, check out the official site.

Welcome!

I originally created this blog over a year ago, right before “MAVERICK” was released. Then I forgot about it after a while.

Seems I’m not exactly the ideal caretaker.

But that doesn’t matter, because I’ve dug this from the crypt, slapped a new coat of paint on it and now it’s geared up and ready to go like never before. Hopefully.

Even if MEG is on a hiatus, I’ll continue to improve the site. Any volunteers, comments, or suggestions would be helpful.
